Step1:

Following inspection we will choose the most appropriate method to remove soiling and contaminants such as paint, glues, cement and previous coatings etc,

Step 2:

If there are any minor repairs we will carry these out at this stage, we will also remove large areas of contamination, we will also clean and prepare the edges

Step 3

At this point we will deeply clean the Minton floor using cleaning methods that are safe for the tiles and not cause any further problems, if the floor is prone to efflorecence we will treat to inhibit this.

Step 4:

Minton and Quarry tile floors are quite absorbent and are often laid on a porous bed, we can install drying equipment if required, we often leave the floors for a few days to dry.

Step 5:

At this point the floor is dry, we will inspect the floor and carry out any further minor cleaning and repair work that may be required.

Step 6:

We can now apply a seal, we recommend a seal that protects enhances the colour and leaves a matte finish (depending upon the circumstances and type of finish required) we can also apply other finishes including gloss if required.

This Victorian floor in Leicestershire was in good overall condition and only had dirt and a haze from building works carried out, we deep cleaned using safe cleaning products and methods that wont cause harm to the colour of the tile, we then apply our colour enhancing seal, this protects and gives the tile a natural finish.

This Quarry tile floor in Nottingham needed a little lift following cleaning, we don't usually apply any surface polish to Victorian Minton or quarry floors as these can quickly look unsightly and don't allow the floor to breathe, we apply a colour enhancer that impregnates, deepens and enhances the natural colour and also gives long lasting protection, this method is also easy to maintain.
